It’s October so you probably think festival season is over however that could not be further from the truth. This October, Oxfam are hosting 32 Oxjam Music Festivals across the UK raising money to help beat poverty. Each event is set-up and organised by music loving volunteers all dedicated to their local music scene making it the UK’s largest grassroots music festival. Find an event near you here.
I have seen information about this event – more specifically Oxjam Brum in Digbeth – for a few months now and it sounds very exciting. For a music lover there isn’t a much better day especially when it comes to listening and discovering acts that you haven’t seen before.
On Saturday 13th October, Digbeth is hosting 36 acts across five different venues all in walking distance of one and other. The ticket is a small price of £12.50 (£15 OTD) for what promises to be a brilliant day of music and it is all for a fantastic cause.
There really is something for everyone on the line-up! You just have to look at the three headliners to see that this is the case. If you want dreamy vocals and riffs that have you swaying then dreamcore five-piece Coffee Breath will be ready to give you a ride to dreamland at The Engine Room. If Hip-Hop is more your vibe then PWDR MNKY can entertain you at Dig Brew Co. Or head to Suki10c to witness the brilliance of alt-rock band LOVEBITES. I for one know that I’m going to be spoilt for choice.
There are so many acts I could talk about from indie band Exhailers to soul singing X-Factor contestant Relley C but how about you check them all out for yourself at Oxjam Brum on the 13th October. Find out more and buy tickets here.
