The Magic Gang: Life Of The Party, Castle & Falcon, Birmingham Preview

Kicking off December this year the brilliant The Magic Gang are bringing an all day event across both stages at Castle & Falcon in Birmingham. Created with Sonic Gun this event sees eight incredible acts rock the venue for only £15!

The Magic Gang are putting on three “parties” for their “Life of the Party” tour where they are bringing numerous acts to The Dome in London, Brudenell Social Club in Leeds and Castle & Falcon in Birmingham. Some acts are consistent across the tour whilst others are being brought in for the individual shows and I for one like what I see.

The band’s recognition is increasing all of the time and I have been hearing positive things about them for some time now. They have three EPs, the first having been released in 2016 and also their self titled album which came out last year. With almost 400,000 monthly listeners on Spotify the only way is up for this quartet.

Joining them for this event are Happyness, Buzzard Buzzard Buzzard, Dry Cleaning, Do Nothing, Icehead, Flares and Social Contract.

Indie-rock duo Happyness are made-up of Ash Kenazi and Jonny Allan from London. The pair have two albums, “Weird Little Birthday” and “Write In”, and have been releasing music since 2014.

Buzzard Buzzard Buzzard are a rock band on the rise. The Welsh outfit are putting out music with a fresh look on classic rock but with an element of new. Their latest single, “Love Forever” which was released in July has already wracked up over 80,000 listens on Spotify.

Four-piece Dry Cleaning are bringing the sound of post-punk and new wave up from South London. This year has been a busy one for the band as they have released not just one but two EPs, “Sweet Princess” and “Boundary Road Snacks and Drinks”.

Nottinghamshire band Do Nothing are bringing their alt-rock stance to the line-up. They have three singles, their most popular being “Handshakes” which has accumulated over 300,000 listens on Spotify.

Trio Icehead from London continue with the rock theme but add an emotive element. They have three singles their latest being “Denialism” which was released in July adding to their others, “Losing Sleep” and “Out The Door”.

Flares are absolutely killing it right now. I have been impressed every single time I have witness the indie band’s brilliance and there is definitely an aura of excitement surrounding them. They have released five singles this year my favourite being “Tunnel Vision”.

Describing themselves as producing light metal, London based band Social Contract complete the line-up for this event.

The event is at Castle & Falcon on 1st December and you can get your tickets through See Tickets here. So come on! Join the party.
