Weekly Round-Up 9: A Week of Ups and Downs

Take a deep breath. In and out. That’s what I have just done because the absolute nightmare of a week is over. Thankfully.

This week has been a week of how many deadlines and “quizzes” can my university give me in the space of a short seven days. A lot. But after a week long continuous headache and a couple of sleepless nights I have completed it all…yay!

There have been some positives though so let’s focus on those (my aim isn’t to make you miserable). On Monday, it was my uni pal’s birthday and we always go for a food shop after I finish my lab session usually. On the way to the Tesco Metro we came across an outdoor drinking dome (winter themed ready for Christmas) and some food stalls outside the Bullring. We had a cheeky drink, I had a lovely rhubarb and custard cider whilst he had a hot toffee apple cider. It was very chill after a day of Java coding. I went to Yo Sushi for the first time that night with a group of people. I don’t like sushi because I am not massively into fish but the chicken I had was incredible.

I saw Bohemian Rhapsody last weekend with my dad! It was actually amazing and I totally recommend that everyone see it. It was emotional, the acting was spot on and it really did Freddie’s story justice. Make sure you check it out.

What other positives were there…oh yes! Yesterday I was feeling pretty low and a friend was trying to persuade me to go to a fireworks display. I originally turned it down but after a while I thought…no, I am just going to be miserable if I stay in and wallow. So I forced myself to go and we had a great time!

There were four of us who went to a rival university to watch them and not only was the display fantastic but also there were fair rides and food stalls. It was quite the event with a lot of people! But I enjoyed myself. I may have treated myself to some candy floss…

One thing I did do this week which I am glad about is visit a friend in hospital. She has been there for quite some time and really isn’t in a good way but I am pleased that I have finally had the opportunity to see her. Even if she wasn’t particularly talkative I hope I cheered her up even just a small bit.

So…that’s about it! I am going to more fireworks tomorrow which I am looking forward to and I can now put my feet up for the weekend. Happy weekend everyone x
